Status Update:
Working today on some new rough puffin sketches...Not sure what I will use them for but, at least I'm doing some artwork…I’m thinking I may use one of the rough puffin sketches for a watercolour painting.
I also started a Facebook Page called: A Passion for ART. Here is the Link: (If it don't work Please let me know, I'll do my very best to fix it.)

The Start of My Puffin Series
Yesterday, I decided to start a Puffin Series of Paintings. I went through some sketches I had of some puffins and I got two blank canvas,' one 8x10" and one 12x16". The first day, I redrawn the sketches of the puffins to fit both canvas'. Afterwards, I got the basecoat on, I hate seeing a white canvas, I'm always afraid of it. But now the basecoat is on I'm ready to start.
I just reheated my coffee, my table is all ready and layout...just need some water in my mason jar and then I'm ready to begin. I have always used natural light, I don't like painting with artificial lights because the colour of the paints on canvas are always look strange to me...it effects the colour. I don't have much time to paint today, I'm losing the best light. I get the background finally painted on, I drink the coffee that I had to reheat again. Now I'm waiting for the paint to dry before, I put the sketches of the puffins on the canvas. It seem to be a good place to end the day, I should be back working on the Puffin Paintings within a couple of days.

Well, I know I haven't been on here really in a while. I don't have the Part 2 of Coco's painting post finished yet. And I did start on the new post about the Puffin Painting I did...which I maybe able to sell to the guy in a store called Picture It In A Frame. I have always wondered how artist got their artwork on his walls, if he likes my Puffin then he will sell it for me. I was so over the moon when I heard about that, now I'm flooded with ideas to get more artwork done to bring to him. I'm not having much luck the last couple of days but, things should clear up and I will be able to do more work. So, that's what been going on, plus I made 5 birthday cards...I'll post pictures of them very soon. That's all for now. See ya.

Coco Portrait (Part 1)
Why did I get myself into? Why did I say I would paint a portrait of Coco...
Coco
With a big mug of coffee I used the new app I downloaded on my iPhone, the one called 'Inspire,' (I used it before in another post I did) and I use my dollarama stylus. I started with opening the app and I'm introduce to a blank square, so I painted one side blue and the other side green. then, I did a quick sketch of Coco on top of the half blue and green screen. Which one to pick? The odd this was, I was doing reseach on people who do pet portraits and most were painted with blue....but deep down I thought I should do green but, stupid me decided to use blue.
Preliminary Sketches of Coco
'Inspire App for iPhone' Sketch of Coco
Now, I sit at the table all set up to starting painting. The blank white canvas is kind of scary at first. Putting the first bit of paint on the palette...I wet my brush, my iPhone is playing 'Too Close,' Alex Clare. The first brush stoke almost makes my heart stop, no turning back on. I paint all the canvas cobalt blue...the canvas is just too white. I wait for that layer of paint to dry,if I put on more paint it will lift off the paint I just put on.
Table Set Up
I get the background painted on had a bit of a hard time. But I think it looks great, I put that canvas aside, so it could dry without me picking at it again. I'm looking over my drawings to see if I have Coco drawn right, she looks good. Tomorrow I'll start painting her.
